Bernd Nehrig ( born September 28, 1986 in Heidenheim an der Brenz ) is a German football player. The striker, who was German A- Junior Champion with the offspring of VfB Stuttgart, is since 2013 the FC St. Pauli under contract.

Career

Nehrig started to play football in the TV Steinheim as a goalkeeper, before joining the Junior Division of the Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart 1998. With the B- youth team of the Swabian club he reached the final of the German Cup, which was, however, lost to the next generation of Hertha BSC 2003. Two years later he was with the A -Jugend VfB in the final, which was won 1-0 against the junior team of VfL Bochum. In 2005 he also participated with the team of Württemberg Football Association Cup on the Rhine. In parallel, he became the junior national team and ran from 2001 almost all youth teams of the German Football Association.

In the summer of 2005 Nehrig moved up to the squad of the second team of VfB Stuttgart. As an amateur player, the trained car salesman for the reserve of the clubs south ran in the regional and was directly in his first race in the men's range - a 2-2 draw against eventual runner-up and advanced TuS Koblenz on the opening day of the 2005 /06 third-rate league - sign the scoresheet. In his second season Nehrig moved, not least because of his achievements in the first year at the VfB reserve team in the extended squad for the Bundesliga team. In preparation for the 2008/ 09 season he was injured in a friendly match against AEK Athens at the knee. In DFB Pokal 2009/10 Bernd Nehrig has significantly contributed to his former club VfB Stuttgart retired from the DFB Cup. He scored the decisive 1-0 in the second round of the DFB - Pokal and thus shot the SpVgg Greuther Fürth in the quarterfinals. This year he was also once used in the junior team in the Regionalliga Süd. In 2012 he reached the Fürth promotion to the Bundesliga.

In April 2012 Nehrig extended his contract with the Fürth until 30 June 2014. Late April 2013, however, it became known that he left prematurely SpVgg at the end of the season 2012/13 and FC St. Pauli enters, where he remained until a contract signed on 30 June 2016.
