History
The town was first mentioned in 1364 as a bed Husen documented.
On 1 October 1922, the altenburgische and the Reuss proportion of the community were pooled.

The council was determined at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote. The turnout was 54.6 %.
Mayor
7 December 2008 Lothar Dietz man was re-elected with 97.5 % of votes cast. He belongs to the constituency association of the volunteer fire department. The turnout was 57.8 %.
