Geography

The actual force village and the hamlets Töppeln, Lower Village, Harper and Oberndorf lie in the valley of the Erlbachs. Ruedersdorf, Gruena, Pörsdorf and Mühlsdorf lie on a plateau north of the Erlbachtals. Kaltenborn lies south of it, in a tributary. It has a station on the railway line from Gera to Weimar and the motorway exit " Hermsdorf - East" and " Ruedersdorf " at the Federal Highway 4

History

Force village was first mentioned in 1256, when the Margrave Heinrich of Meissen the monastery Lausnitz the two villages Kraftsdorf and Hermsdorf via suitable. 1876, the railway line Weimar -Gera was inaugurated and put the Kraftsdorfer station in operation. Culture and sights

The football club Kraftsdorfer SV 03 has a soccer field with athletes home. The football team was achieved with the completion of the 2007/2008 season, the rise in the country's class Ost ( 7 League ). Economy

In the district Ruedersdorf the largest ground-mounted solar park in Thuringia is built from November 16, 2010 on behalf of the Solaris Kraftwerk GmbH, under the auspices of the Thuringian Ministry of Construction and using Chinese PV modules. Traffic

Through the territory of the municipality Kraftsdorf extend the federal highway 4 to the junction Ruedersdorf and the railway line Weimar -Gera with the station Kraftsdorf, Töppeln the train station and the previous block Oberndorf.

Conservation

The state administration of Weimar forbade the end of 2009 the construction of three wind turbines at Ruedersdorf and in January 2010 the construction of seven wind turbines (planned height 150 m) in force village. The reason given was: Incompatibility with nature conservation, particularly bird and bat conservation.
