The community Mohlsdorf - Teichwolframsdorf is a rural municipality in the district of Greiz ( Thuringia), which was created on 1 January 2012 from the merger of the municipalities Mohlsdorf and Teichwolframsdorf.

Geographical location

The rural municipality located in the southeast of the district Greiz. In the east and south, the municipality borders are also the national border of Thuringia with Saxony. Between the two main varieties, the Werdauer - Greizer forest stretches. The municipal area is north of the forest for Ronneburger agricultural and mining region and the south to the natural space Ostthüringer Schiefergebirge -Vogtland counted according to their natural outline of the state of Thuringia.

History

After the municipal councils of the municipalities Mohlsdorf and Teichwolframsdorf had taken decisions to the dissolution of communities and the merger to a rural community, the two mayors signed on 13 January 2011 the area change agreement. The merger was also proposes that the contract with the city Berga / Elster, who works for both communities as fulfilling community since January 1, 2008 set aside. The project was initially rejected by the Home Affairs Committee of the Thuringian Landtag. After fresh discussions of parliament December 16, 2011 approved the formation of the rural community.

First full-time mayor of the municipality Mohlsdorf - Teichwolframsdorf was Christian Häckert ( CDU). He received his election, around 90 % of the votes in a turnout of 61.75 %. Häckert was previously mayor of the municipality resolved Mohlsdorf. Culture and sights
