Between the Buried and Me

Between the Buried and Me (also known under the abbreviation BTBAM ) is an American band from Charlotte and Winston- Salem. The quintet plays a mix of Progressive Metal, Mathcore Metalcore. The idea for the band name came from the song Ghost Train of the band Counting Crows.

Band name

The band name is derived from a portion of the text in the Counting Crows song Ghost Train:

" Took the cannonball down to the ocean Across the desert from the sea to shining sea I rode a ladder did climbed across the nation Fifty million feet of earth in between the buried and me"

Band History

Having had the band Prayer for Cleansing of Tommy Rogers and Paul Waggoner dissolved, the two decided to start looking for new members for a new band. In the fall of 2000 they met bassist Jason King and the two guitarists Paul Waggoner and Nick Fletcher with whom she formed the band Between the Buried and Me, which they named after a line from the song Ghost Train of Counting Crows. In April 2002, they then released their self-titled debut album, Between the Buried and Me under the German indie label Lifeforce Records, on which there were also new recordings of their first three demo songs.

After the native of Chicago record label, Victory Records took notice of the band, the band released in 2003 their second album The Silent Circus. They then coupled from this the song Mordecai and released this as a single, to which she also shot a music video. It was followed by a tour with Converge and Bleeding Through. Shortly thereafter, the three founding members Nick Fletcher Jason King and Will Goodyear left the band, which were then replaced for a short time. In September 2004, the band with Dustie Waring and his former bandmates from Glass Casket Blake Richardson was a solid line-up. Beginning of 2005, there was added bassist Dan Briggs, so the band was complete again.

In September 2005, appeared on Alaska 's third album of the band on which was heard for the first time the new line-up. In addition, they were able to achieve a chart position with the album ranked # 121 for the first time. There then followed by extensive tours with Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die, Bleeding Through, and Haste the Day, until the band in 2006 with The Anatomy Of released a tribute album. There followed a year later, the first live album on DVD under the name Colors: Live. In November 2009, the band released the album The Great Misdirect by the band with room # 36, which reached up to now highest chart position in the band's history. 2010 was the band with bands like Underoath, blessthefall or As I Lay Dying on tour.

In April 2011 appeared The Parallax: Hyper Sleep Dialogues, half an hour's EP with three tracks, which is to bring a taste of the upcoming album.

Lead singer Tommy Rogers brought on 1 February 2011 out a solo album under the pseudonym " Thomas Giles ". The album is entitled " Pulse".
