Big Boi

Big Boi ( born February 1, 1975 in Savannah, civil Antwan André Patton ) is an American rapper and actor. It forms with Andre 3000, the hip- hop duo OutKast and is a member of the Dungeon Family.

He is also known under the pseudonyms of Sir Lucious Left Foot, Daddy Fat Sacks, General Patton, Billy Ocean, Francis the Savannah Chitlin Pimp and Hot Tub Tony.

Career

As a child, Big Boi dreamed of becoming a football player. However, this changed when he came by his grandmother with African-American music in touch. As a teenager, he moved with his family to Atlanta, where he met in high school, André Benjamin, with whom he began to rap. Through their friendship with the producer Rico Wade they could record the album Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, which was already relatively successful and went platinum. At the time, Big Boi graduated and shortly thereafter became the first time father. In order to pursue his music career, he gave up his plan to become child psychologist, and opened on the Pit Bull breed Pitt case Kennels, which is now part of one of his brothers.

After another very commercially successful albums OutKast published in 2003 Speakerboxxx / The Love Below, which sold 11 million times to date. Big Bois co-produced by him " solo " album Speakerboxxx spawned the song "The Way You Move ", the 100 one weeks remained on the Billboard Hot at # 1, after he had located eight weeks in second place. In 2004 he was a guest performer in the Chappelle 's Show. On his newly founded record label Purple Ribbon Records a year later, he released the compilation album Got Purp? Vol 2 with standing on the label under contract artists, mainly members of the Dungeon Family.

With André 3000 he played the lead role in the musical film Idlewild, he was also in the films ATL and Who's Your Caddy? to see. 2008 Big Boi collaborated with the Atlanta Ballet for the " Hip- Hop - Ballet " big, which is based on the performance of some of his songs as well as other members of purble ribbon. Six performances were held from 10 to 13 April in Atlanta instead, according to Big Boi, the concept should be continued around the world.

In November 2008 he was in the U.S. in a two-part episode of the crime drama series Law & Order: see New York.

After several postponements was the publication of the first official solo album from Big Boi, Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, planned for October 2008, but again was not confirmed. The song " Royal Flush " featuring Andre 3000 and Raekwon was released in March on the Internet and was nominated for the 2009 Grammy Awards for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group category. However, the first single from the album is " Something's Gotta Give ", a duet with Mary J. Blige. Other guests on the album include George Clinton, Too Short, TI and members of the Dungeon Family. It was produced mainly by Organized Noize and Big Boi himself, as well as, among others, Scott Storch and Lil Jon. The reason for the numerous displacements Big Boi calls the marketing policy of the record label Jive Records. On 14 April 2009 he explained the work on the album for officially ended. Was on July 2, 2010 Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty still published two years late on Def Jam Recordings.

Throughout his career, Big Boi collaborated with numerous internationally successful artists, including Missy Elliott, Jay -Z, Beyonce, Earth, Wind & Fire, Carlos Santana, Diddy and Chris Brown.

Family

Big Bois parents divorced when he was five. He has five younger siblings, one of whom is a member of the hip- hop group Concrete, which stands at Purple Ribbon Records. He is married since 2003 with Sherlita, co- owner of clothing boutique PValentine, and has three children, Jordan (* 1995), Bamboo ( * 2000 ) and Cross ( * 2001). His two sons are listening to Interludes from Speakerboxxx and Idlewild.
