Binali Yıldırım

Binali Yıldırım ( born December 20 1955 at the County Refahiye, Erzincan Province) is a Turkish naval architect and politician. From 2007 to March 2011 and from July 2011 to December 2013, he was also Minister of Transport of Turkey.

Life

He completed his studies at the Faculty of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering at the Technical University of İstanbul. His specialized training received Yıldırım at the World Maritime University in Malmo (Sweden). At the same university he was an assistant and research staff. Yıldırım worked in the Camialtı shipyard and served in various leadership positions in the Directorate-General for shipbuilding industry. He was Director General of the Marine buses Istanbul ( İstanbul Deniz Otobüsleri, IDO ). 1999 Yıldırım received the Quality Award ( Quality in Tourism Award), the trade association Skål International for his services to the public maritime transport and tourism. He was elected to the governing body of the World Maritime University.

Binali Yıldırım is a founding member of the Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi ( AKP). Yıldırım was a member of the Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi ( AKP) for the province of İstanbul in the 22nd legislative session ( 14 October 2002 to 22 July 2007) of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Next he was Transport Minister in the 58th (Cabinet Gul ) and 59 ( I. Erdoğan Cabinet) Government of the Republic of Turkey. Yıldırım, 2007 was a member of the Cabinet of II Erdoğan AKP government under Erdogan, in which he was Transport Minister again since 29 August. On 8 March 2011 he gave up his post as Minister of Transport to Mehmet Habib Soluk continue to compete as a deputy for the province of Izmir in the parliamentary elections in June 2011 can. On July 6, 2011, he was employed by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan again as Minister of Transport. The Office of the Minister of Transport, he held until 25 December 2013.

Yıldırım is married and father of three children.
