Biscoe Islands

The Biscoe Islands are an elongated archipelago (south between 66.5 ° and 66-80 ° west longitude Br ) in the South Pole ( Antarctica ), which extends about 30 km distance parallel to Graham Land. The main islands of the group are Renaud Island, the Rabot Island, Lavoisier Island (called by Chile Serrano Island and Argentina Mitre Island ) and the Watkins Island. The archipelago was discovered in 1832 by the English captain John Biscoe. The Biscoe Islands are sometimes combined with the Adelaide Island and smaller islands to the Adelaide and Biscoe Islands.
