Björn Phau

Björn Phau ( born October 4, 1979 in Darmstadt ) is a German tennis player.

Tennis career

Phau, whose father is from Indonesia, has been a professional since 1999. His most successful year so far was 2005, when he rose to number 78 of the world tennis rankings. In Tokyo he reached on the ATP Masters Series in the same year for the first time a semi-final. 2005 and 2006 respectively, he came into the second round of the Australian Open. In 2006 he was in the semifinals of Casablanca and rose to number 59 in the world rankings.

His biggest success at a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the double quarter-final at the French Open in 2006, when he joined the Czech Lukáš double Dlouhy and Pavel Vízner was subject to the Austrian Alexander Peya with 6:7 and 6:7.
