Blažejovice

Blažejovice ( German Blaschejowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 15 kilometers northwest of Humpolec and belongs to Okres Benešov.

Geography

Blažejovice is on the left side of the flooded with the drinking water reservoir Švihov Želivkatals at the foot of Hurka or Blažejovický vrch (546 m) in the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. South of the valley of the creek Blažejovický is flowing into the reservoir in the west. About the mouth of the remains of the castle are Zahrádka ( Monastery Hill) and on the opposite bank, the St. Vitus Church, which stood until 1976 in the center of the patch Zahrádka.

Neighboring towns are Martinice u Dolních Kralovic in the north, Šetějovice and SNET in the northeast, and Ježov Vranice the southeast, Píšť in the south, Hořice the southwest, Vítonice in the west and Vraždovy Lhotice in the northwest.

History

Blažejovice was originally in the dense forests of the Queen passed Sprengel Swatawa, in the course of its settlement by the Vyšehrad collegiate chapters. The first mention of the village was carried out in 1352 in a charter of Charles IV. Since 1407 also Vítonice is proven.

After the destruction of Vyšehrad by the Hussites received Nicholas Trček of Lipa in 1436 the parish as a gift. In 1547 Henry bought Kekulé von Stradonitz Blažejovice. Other owners were Stepan Střela z Rokyc, from 1611 Vražda of Kunwald then the Court Chamber. About the President Heinrich Hovora Berka of Dubé reached the village in 1694 Johann Leopold Donat of Trautson and Falkenstein, who is also the rule Unterkralowitz acquired in 1698 and joined the village there. He was succeeded in 1766 by Karl Josef Palm Gundelfingen and from 1844 Prince William Vincenz von Auersperg. After the abolition of patrimonial Blažejovice gained independence in 1848.

In 1910 the school building. 1945, the estates of the Prince Auersperg were confiscated. The school was closed in 1973 due to low pupil numbers and now serves as the municipal office. From 1974, the flooding of the valley of Želivka by the dam was Švihov; the same spots Zahrádka was dissolved and flooded large parts.

The municipality consists of the villages Blažejovice Blažejovice ( Blaschejowitz ) and Vítonice ( Witonitz ).

Attractions

  • Chapel of the Virgin Mary, built in the middle of the 19th century. The bell Václav still comes from the wooden bell tower from 1695, which was replaced by the chapel.
  • Chapel in Vítonice, the building dates from the sunken in the dam village Příseka and was implemented in 1972.
