Borisovsky District

The Borissowski rayon (Russian Борисовский муниципальный район, Borissowski munizipalny rayon ) is a raion of Belgorod Oblast in Russia. It is located west of the Oblasthauptstadt Belgorod. Administrative center of the Rajons is the urban-type settlement Borisovka.

Geographical location

The Borissowski rayon is situated in the western part of the Belgorod Oblast. It is bordered on the north by the Rakitjanski rayon, rayon Belgorodski to the east and the Jakowlewski rayon, rayon to Ukraine and to the west by the Graiworonski in the south. The surface of rayon Borissowski is 650 km ². From east to west the Rajon flows through the Vorskla, which divides it into two parts with different nature. North of the Vorskla is an area at risk and those gegliedertem relief, with predominant gray forest soils and large forest massifs. South of the Vorskla outweighs shallow relief with prevailing black soil and few forests.

The Rajon is ( образование муниципальное, munizipalnoje obrasowanije ) in nine " municipal entity" divided, of which a municipality ( городское поселение, gorodskoje posselenije ) and eight rural communities ( сельское поселение, selskoje posselenije ).
