Borský Svätý Jur

Bory Jur (1960-1992 " Bory Jur " - to 1927 " Burský Jur "; German Bur - Saint George, Hungarian Búrszentgyörgy ) Stand is a place and a municipality in western Slovakia, with a population of 1638 (31 December 2011 ) and is located in Okres Senica, a part of the Region Trnavský.

Geography

The municipality lies in the landscape Zahorie lies in the lowlands Borská nížina, a lower part of the geomorphological unit Záhorská nížina, 21 kilometers from Malacky and 27 kilometers from Senica away. Five kilometers south of the capital are still the settlements Dolné Valy, Husky and Tomky, but which are not parts of municipalities.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1394 in a charter of Sigismund and belonged to the manor of Castle Ostry Kamen. Three years later, the Roman Catholic parish is mentioned. 1828 are listed 423 houses and 3,124 inhabitants.
