Branko Radivojevič

Branko Radivojevic (* November 24, 1980 in Piešťany ) is a Slovak ice hockey player standing since November 2013 when HC Slovan Bratislava in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Branko Radivojevic began his career as a hockey player in his youth HC Dukla Trenčín of, for the first team, he made his debut in the Slovak Extraliga in the 1997/98 season. He then moved to the Belleville Bulls, for by 2001 he was active from 1998 into the Canadian top junior league Ontario Hockey League. During this period, the attacker in the NHL Entry Draft in 1999 was selected in the third round as a total 93 players from the Colorado Avalanche for which, however, he never played. As this did not take him in the next two years under contract, the right-handed shooter was on 19 June 2001 committed as a free agent by the Phoenix Coyotes, where he stood in the following three seasons in the National Hockey League on the ice.

On 9 February 2004 Radivojevic was submitted along with Sean Burke and Ben Eager in exchange for Mike Comrie to the Philadelphia Flyers, for whom he ran aground until end of season in 42 games. The lockout during the 2004/ 05 NHL season bridged the Slovak in Europe, where he hokejová for Vsetínská in the Czech Extraliga and Luleå HF was active in the Swedish Elitserien. After the resumption of gaming operations in the NHL for the season 2005/ 06 he returned to the Philadelphia Flyers. From 2006 to 2008 the winger was in their league rivals Minnesota Wild signed before he was obliged by HK Spartak Moscow of the newly formed Kontinental Hockey League prior to the 2008/ 09 season, for whom he played until 2011. He was an assistant and in the following season team captain in the 2009/10 season.

Beginning of August 2011 was dissolved his contract with Spartak and Radivojevic moved to Atlant Mytischtschi. A year later, in May 2012, he returned to Spartak and signed a contract for two years with the club. The following season he led Spartak again as captain on the ice and scored 25 points scorer in 55 games this season. Then his running contract was terminated and Radivojevic joined Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk. There, however, he was unable to repeat his performance and was exempted shown in october 2013, and a few days later obliged by HC Slovan Bratislava.

Internationally

For Slovakia Radivojevic participated exclusively at the U20 World Junior Championship in 2000 at junior level. In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad at the World Championships in 2003, 2007, 2009 and 2011, and at the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010 and 2004 at the World Cup of Hockey.
