Belleville Bulls

The Belleville Bulls are a Canadian ice hockey team from Belleville, Ontario. The team was founded in 1981 as a junior team and plays in one of the three highest Canadian Junior Hockey League, the Ontario Hockey League ( OHL ) since 1981.

History

The Belleville Bulls started in 1979 as OHA junior team in the second category, the championship they won in the 1980/81 season. On 2 February 1981, the city of Belleville by the Ontario Hockey League was a private franchise, so that the Belleville Bulls in the OHL changed. In the 1985/86 season, the Bulls reached the finals for the first time to the J. Ross Robertson Cup, where they lost to the Guelph Platers, against which they had won the title in 1981 in the OHA. It took 13 years to Belleville in 1999 for the second time in franchise history reached the OHL finals. This time they defeated the London Knights and were given the opportunity the OHL in the Memorial Cup to represent.

Since the Kitchener Rangers were both hosts and OHL champion, the Belleville Bulls were allowed to participate as a runner-up of the OHL in 2008 for a second time at the Memorial Cup.
