British Grand Prix
As Grand Prix of Great Britain held regularly since 1950 an annual Formula 1 race in England instead.
In addition to the Italian Grand Prix this Grand Prix is the only one who was discharged completely in every year since the creation of the Formula 1.
From 1950 to 1954, already the Silverstone Circuit in Silverstone, England, the venue. In the years 1955 to 1963, the races were held alternately at the Aintree Circuit near Liverpool and the Silverstone circuit. From 1964 to 1986, the race course changed Brands Hatch near London and Silverstone Circuit as the venue from. From 1987 to 2009, the Grand Prix of Great Britain was regularly played on the Silverstone Circuit.
Originally the Grand Prix of Great Britain at Donington Park should be held in 2010. However, the contract was canceled because of financial difficulties in the line operators by the FIA . On 7 December 2009, the operator of the Silverstone Circuit concluded with Bernie Ecclestone a contract until 2026 at Silverstone provides for the Formula 1 race.
