History

Origin

The attached art roads ( highways ) in southwest Germany were expanded in the 18th century the French model. The road link between the residence cities of Karlsruhe and Stuttgart was built as one of the first streets in West Germany for highway because of their great importance in 1737 and completed in 1748. At that time ( 1746 ) also on the Geislingen leading road from Stuttgart to Ulm was expanded into a fortified street art. It was not until the Napoleonic era (around 1806) the parallel federal highway 28 was also developed between Strasbourg and Ulm as a second east- west connection through the highway.

Earlier routes and designations

The St. Ingbert- Rentrisch branching off from the Paris - Metz- Mainzer Straße Landauer road was declared on December 16, 1811 impériale to Route No. 74. After 1815, the Palatinate belonged to the Kingdom of Bavaria and then to 1945 the Free State of Bavaria. Therefore, the leading of two bridges over Pirmasens to Landau street was called Bavarian State Road No. 151. The Bavarian state highways are numbered according to their starting location:

  • State Highway 15: Augsburg - Günzburg - Ulm
  • State Road No. 124: Salzburg - Wasserburg
  • State Road No. 151: Two bridges - Pirmasens - Landau

The road from Karlsruhe to Stuttgart in 1901 called Baden State Road No. 13.

The trunk road 10 ( FVS 10), from 1934 Federal Highway 10 (R 10) called, was established in 1932 as continuous connection between the border of the city was still under League of Nations administration Saar near Zweibrücken and the Austrian border near Salzburg. After the incorporation of the Saar into the German Empire in 1935, this road was extended to Homburg, where the National Highway 40, connecting Frankfurt with Saarbrücken, resulted.

The former Federal Highway 10 resulted from Augsburg more about Munich, Ebersberg, Wasserburg am Inn and Traunstein up to Freilassing on the Austrian border. After Austria in 1938, she was subsequently continued over Bad Ischl and Bad Aussee in Styria. Between Augsburg and Munich, the imperial roads R 2 and R 10 proceeded via a common route on Fürstenfeldbruck. Even before 1940, the section was east of Munich in Styria the new name Reichsstrasse 304, which still persists in the German section to Freilassing today as federal highway 304.

These are two other lanes are driven into the rock, while one lane will remain at the current level. The expansion is expected to cost eight million euros, which another green bridge is included. A possible subsequent four lane expansion was taken into account during planning.
