Cai Zhenhua

Cai Zhenhua ( born September 3, 1961 in Wuxi (Jiangsu) Province) is a Chinese table tennis player, coach and functionary. It was the early 1980s, four -time world champion.

Active

Cai Zhenhua is left-handed. He participated in the World Championships in 1981, 1983 and 1985 and won it every time at least one title: 1981 in a double with Li Zhenshi and with the Chinese men's team in 1983 and 1985 with the team in the Mixed with Cao Yanhua. In individual he reached in 1981 and 1983, the final that he lost against each Guo Yuehua. There are also two bronze medals, in 1983 in the Mixed with Cao Yanhua and 1985 in a double with Jiang Jialiang.

Also at the Asian Championships he won several titles. 1980 and 1982 he won with the team, in 1982 he also became Asian champions in singles. In doubles, he came in 1980 ( with Shi Zhihao ) and 1982 ( with Jiang Jialiang ) in the final.

In the ITTF World Ranking in 1984 he performed at square one. In 2010 he was inducted into the ITTF Hall of Fame.

Coaches and officials

Cai Zhenhua coached from 1985 to 1989, the Italian national team. Then he returned to China and was here coach. In 1991 he was promoted to head coach.

In 2004 he finished his work as a trainer and became director of the administration center for table tennis and badminton. In 2009, he broke Li Furong from as President of the Asian Table Tennis Association ATTU. In 2010 he also assumed responsibility for the Chinese football.

Cai Zhenhua is shown on a postage stamp of the Swedish Post to 3.20 Swedish crowns, issued for the World Table Tennis Championships 1985 in Gothenburg on March 14, 1985 ( Michel-Nr. 1327 ).
