Shi Zhihao

Shi Zhihao ( born September 26, 1959 in Shanghai) is a Chinese table tennis player and functionary. In 1981 he was World Champion in the team competition.

Career

Shi Zhihao participated in the World Championships in 1979 and 1981. In 1981, he came in an individual to the quarterfinals, with the Chinese team, he was world champion. Three medals he won at the Asian Championships in 1980. Gold he won in singles and with the team, he reached the final in doubles with Cai Zhenhua.

In the ITTF World Ranking Shi Zhihao took seventh place in June 1981.

In 1984, he ended his career as a competitive athlete. From 1987 to 1996 he held himself as player-coach in Germany. He then worked in China as a coach. As an assistant coach he coached from 1998, the Women's National Team since 2000 and the gentlemen around 2005 to replace the women's head coach Lu Yuansheng. In 2012 he finished this work in 2013 and was Dean of the newly created in 2010 Chinese Table Tennis Academy at the Sports University in Shanghai.

Time in Germany

In 1987, Shi Zhihao after Germany and joined the Bundesliga club TTC Grenzau. With the men's team in 1988, he won the European Cup of Champions. Two years later he moved to the Regional to Post SV Augsburg. From 1992 to 1996 he worked as a coach at Werder Bremen. He then returned to China.

Functionary

Shi Zhihao 2013 was elected Vice President of the ITTF.

Private

Shi Zhihao is married to the table tennis player Cao Yanhua. With it, he has a son. He currently lives in Beijing.
