Cal Clutterbuck

Cal Clutterbuck ( born November 18, 1987 in Welland, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since June 2013 with the New York Islanders in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Clutterbuck played during his junior time in the Ontario Hockey League for the Toronto St. Michael's Majors and Oshawa Generals. He participated in the 2004 U18 Junior World Cup and 2005 at the U18 World Youth Championship in the Czech Republic, where he won the silver medal with the Canadian national team. In 2006 he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in the third round and 72nd overall by the Minnesota Wild.

On 27 May 2007, he signed a contract with the Minnesota Wild. First he came for the Houston Aeros, the farm team of the game, in the American Hockey League action. After an injury of Pavol Demitra he was appointed to the cadre of the game and completed on October 28, 2007 against the Colorado Avalanche their first game in the NHL. In the wild, however, he was able to prevail until the following season. On November 24, 2008 against the Washington Capitals, he scored his first goal in the NHL.

Clutterbuck held for three seasons the collected since 2005 NHL record for most hits in a season. With 356 body checks he excelled in the season 2008 /09 the existing best value by Dustin Brown. In the 2011/12 season, however, surpassed Matt Martin Clutterbucks record with 374 hits.

End of June 2013 he was transferred together with a third-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2013 in exchange for Nino Niederreiter to the New York Islanders.
