Calice Ligure

Calice Ligure ( Ligurian in: Córzi ) is a municipality with 1727 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Italian region of Liguria. Politically it belongs to the province of Savona.

Geography

Calice Ligure is located in the hinterland of Finale Ligure, in a fertile plain at the confluence of the creek with the Rio Carbuta Pora. The municipality belongs to the Comunità Montana Pollupice and is about 30 kilometers from the provincial capital Savona.

Through the establishment of a wind energy plant with three wind turbines and the installation of some photovoltaic systems Calice Ligure received in 2005 the environmental certificate ISO 14,000.

According to the Italian classifications for seismic activity, the community of zone 4 was assigned. This means that Calice Ligure is located in a seismically inert zone.

Climate

The municipality is classified under climate category D, as the number of degree days has a value of 1437. This means that in Italy legally regulated heating season is between November 1 and April 15 for 12 hours per day.
