Cam Ward

Cameron Ward (born 29 February 1984 in Sherwood Park, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who plays for the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League since 2005.

Career

Cam Ward has been selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2002 in the first round at position 25 of the Carolina Hurricanes. He played the time being in the junior Western Hockey League for the Red Deer Rebels. In the season 2006/ 07 Ward took over the post as goalkeeper and committed by the Tampa Bay Lightning John Grahame acted as back-up goalie. Ward's previous partner Martin Gerber moved from Carolina to the Ottawa Senators. After the end of the season Ward has performed with the Canadian national team at the World Championships and won the gold medal.
