Carl Demonte Crawford (* August 5, 1981 in Houston, Texas) is an American professional baseball player in Major League Baseball. Crawford plays on the position of the Left fielder and stood at the Tampa Bay Rays since the start of his MLB career under contract. Prior to joining the Boston Red Sox Crawford was because of his constant outstanding performance as the face of the Tampa Bay Rays.
Career
Crawford was selected in the second round of the MLB Draft in 1999 by the Devil Rays. He then played several years in the minor league teams of the Devil Rays. In the 2002 season, he was elected to the International League Rookie of the Year after he had outstanding performance for the AAA team of the Devil Rays, the Durham Bulls furnished.
Major League
2002-05
At the age of 20 years, Crawford was able to celebrate his debut in the major leagues. He played 63 games in the 2002 season, in which he was able to convince with a good batting average of .259 and 9 Stolen Bases. On June 5 Crawford has been locked due to its role in a brawl in the game against the Boston Red Sox for two games. After the 2010 season ended Crawford's contract with the Rays, he joined as a free agent with the Boston Red Sox. This gave Crawford a seven-year contract for $ 142 million U.S. until then the tenth most lucrative contract in the history of MLB.
2012
On August 25, Crawford will change from the Boston Red Sox to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
