Celiac artery

The celiac trunk ( " abdominal strain", of Koila, Greek, " abdomen " ), also known as celiac artery, is the first of the three unpaired visceral branches of the abdominal aorta of mammals. It rises in the level of the aortic hiatus ( approximately at the level of the 12th thoracic vertebra ), a slit in the diaphragm through which the aorta from the thoracic ( chest) into the abdomen ( abdominal cavity ) occurs. In humans, the origin of this blood vessel is located at the level of the twelfth thoracic vertebra.

Coverage area

The celiac artery is responsible for the arterial supply of the liver, stomach, pancreas ( pancreas ), duodenum ( duodenum), the spleen and the adjacent Serosastrukturen.

The celiac trunk divides into three main vessels, which as Haller shear tripod ( Tripus celiac Tripus Halleri ) is called:

  • Arteria dorsalis pancreatica ( back side pancreatic artery)
  • Arteries gastricae breves ( short gastric arteries)
  • Left gastric artery posterior ( artery of the posterior gastric wall )
  • Gastroepiploic artery vein (or A. gastroomentalis sinistra ) (left gastric artery network of epiploon, Greek: web)
  • Hepatic artery ( hepatic artery own ) Artery gastric artery (right gastric artery, in 1/ 3 of the cases from the common hepatic artery )
  • Artery hepatic artery et sinistra (right and left hepatic artery )
  • Arteria cystica ( gallbladder artery)
  • Gastroepiploic artery artery (right gastric artery network )
  • Superior pancreaticoduodenal artery (upper pancreatic duodenal artery in animals "front", is superior by cranialis replaced) Superior pancreaticoduodenal artery anterior ( upper front pancreatic artery)
  • Superior pancreaticoduodenal artery posterior ( upper rear pancreatic artery)

Accidental ligation of Tripus has the inevitable death of the individual result, its function is essential for life. Thus when using a Darminfarzierung due to an embolism or thrombosis of the celiac trunk always to be revised to make an embolectomy if necessary.
