Cerová

Cerová ( until 1975 " Cerová - Lieskové " - until 1927 " Korlát "; Hungarian Korlátkő ) is a municipality in western Slovakia with 1197 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011) and belongs to Okres Senica, a part of the Trnavský kraj.

Geography

The municipality is located partly in the lowlands Záhorská nížina, partly in the Small Carpathians, near the river Myjava and of the military area Zahorie. The center is located at an altitude of 248 m nm and is located 16 km from Senica.

History

Today's church was formed by merger of three places: first united in 1896 places Cerová (Hungarian Cerova ) and Lieskové (Hungarian Lieszkó ) and were given the name Korlátkő ( after 1918 under the name Slovak Cerová Lieskové - out ) to the local castle, was born in 1975 to the place Rozbehy in the Small Carpathians, after which the community was named Cerová.

The medieval history is closely connected with the castle Korlátka, whose origins to the 11th century. It was once a border fortress of the Kingdom of Hungary, which protected the " Bohemian street ". In the 18th century the castle was abandoned and since then it expires.

The town itself was first mentioned in 1324 as Korlathkeu writing.
