Chermignon
Chermignon is a municipality in the district of Sierre in the French speaking part of the canton of Valais in Switzerland.
Geography
Chermignon consists of the two villages Chermignon d' en Haut and Chermignon d' en Bas, the hamlets and Champzabé Ollon and the holiday resort of Crans -sur -Sierre, which in turn forms part of the tourist region of Crans -Montana.
Neighboring communities of Chermignon are in the west and north of Lens, in eastern Montana and in the South Siders.
History
The place was first mentioned in documents as Chermenon in 1228. The municipality was created in 1905 from part of the former parish of Lens. Chermignon belonged ecclesiastically until 1948 the parish Lens. 1952, the local church Saint -Georges was completed.
