Chiang Mai Rajabhat University

The Rajabhat University, Chiang Mai ( Thai: มหาวิทยาลัย ราชภัฏ เชียงใหม่, in short: CMRU ) is a university in the Rajabhat system in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand, enrolled at about 10,000 students (as of 2010).

History

The Chiang Mai Rajabhat University was founded in 1924 as a teachers college, who worked in agriculture. 1948 was the establishment as a general Chiang Mai Teachers College, which offered various training courses since 1956 and female students were admitted to the program.

On February 14, 1992 King Bhumibol Adulyadej gave all 36 teachers colleges of the country the name " Rajabhat Institute " - among them the Chiang Mai Teachers College - who have all been promoted with effect from 15 June 2004 universities.

Currently (as of 2012) is Dr. Ruangdet Wongla President of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University.

Location

The University is located in the center of Chiang Mai on Chang - Puek Street.

Campus

There are four campuses, three of them outside the city Chiang Mai.

The main grounds Wieng Boa is in Chiang Mai. In addition, there are two areas in Amphoe Mae Rim, namely

  • Mae Sa ( for management science, about 10 kilometers from Chiang Mai ) and
  • Sa Luang as an agricultural center ( about 27 kilometers from Chiang Mai )

As well as a terrain in Mae Hong Son, which takes over educational tasks.
