Chminianska Nová Ves

Chminianska Nová Ves ( Slovak to 1927 " Hmiňanská Nová Ves "; Neudorf German, Hungarian Szinyeújfalu ) is a city and a municipality in eastern Slovakia, with 1243 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011). It is located in Okres Prešov, kraj an administrative unit within the Prešov.

Geography

The village is situated on the river Svinka, 12 kilometers west of Prešov in the mountains Šarišská Highlands.

To the municipality next to the main town includes the settlements located northwest league.

History

Chminianska Nová Ves was first mentioned in writing in 1248. Over the centuries, it was a typical agricultural village. A parish has existed since the 15th century. 1828 saw one 75 houses and 585 inhabitants.
