Copa MX
Copa México was a football tournament in Mexico, which was fought 1907-1997. On 31 May 2012 it was announced that as of the Apertura 2012 Copa México is reintroduced. They will play two cups a year, one in the Apertura and the other in the Clausura.

History
Copa Tower ( 1907/08-1918/19 )
The first Cup tournament in Mexico was held in the 1907/08 season under the name Copa Tower. The first phase of the Mexican Association Cup was named after the British Ambassador Reginald Thomas Tower (1860-1939) named, who had come to Mexico in 1907 and had donated the trophy in the same year. At that time, only teams from the metropolitan area of Mexico City were eligible to participate - and so came up with the exception of two-time winner Pachuca CF all the other winners from the Mexican capital. The most frequent winner with a total of four hits was the Club España, who was allowed to retain the Copa Towers after the hat-trick 1918/19, made forever.

1: According to information of the world-renowned site of RSSSF has not played the Copa Towers in the 1912/13 season. But there are also sources that credit the Cup win of the season 1912/13, the Rovers FC.
Copa Eliminatoria ( 1919/20-1931/32 )
After the Club España Copa Towers in 1919 was allowed to keep forever, a new trophy was donated by the Primera Fuerza, which was named Copa Eliminatoria. Also in this competition only teams from the metropolitan area of Mexico City were admitted. Right in the planned opening year 1919/20, the event was not reached and also for the seasons from 1926/27, it has not been discharged, so that they total only six times took place.

Copa México (Amateur phase, 1932/33-1942 )
A few years after the founding of the Mexican Football Federation ( FMF) in 1927 donated this before the start of season 1932/33, a new trophy, which was called the Copa México. To participate, only the teams were entitled to have played in the Primera Fuerza.
