Cuiry-lès-Chaudardes

Cuiry -lès- Chaudardes is a commune in the Aisne department in the Région Picardie. It belongs to the district of Laon, to Canton Craonne and community association Chemin des Dames. In the community 79 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) on an area of 5.15 square kilometers.

Geography

The municipality is situated on the River Aisne, about 25 kilometers north-west of Reims. In the north, the territory extends to the southern slope of the ridge Chemin des Dames.

History

Not far from the church took place during the Second World War in the years 1914, 1917 and 1918 three battles instead. On 9-10. June 1940 crossed the 45th Infantry Division of the German Wehrmacht during the Western campaign in Cuiry -lès- Chaudardes the Aisne.

Mayor of the municipality since 2008, Jean -Guy Noha (DVD), whose term lasts until 2014.
