The conservative Civic Democratic Party ( ODS), previously the strongest force, easily lost, and was only the second strongest party. However, this was not counted as a loss, since the party had split as a result of the previous government crisis and the fate of Václav Klaus on the position of party leader and surveys they had in the meantime rated significantly worse: The newly formed by the inner-party opponents Klaus Freedom Union (U.S.) drew with 8.60 % in the House of Representatives a.
