Damon Albarn
Damon Albarn ( born March 23, 1968 in London ) is a British musician and singer. He is the musical leader of Blur ( Graham Coxon next ), the Gorillaz and the project " The Good, the Bad & the Queen".
Life
Albarn grew up in Essex, where his father was hired in the late 1970s at the University of Essex. There Albarn visited the Stanway Comprehensive School where he has Graham Coxon met. In 1987 Albarn moved to London, where he played with the band Two's a Crowd. In 1989, the band Seymour was founded, which was a year later renamed Blur. Since 2001, he recorded with his former living partner, the Tank Girl artist Jamie Hewlett, and their cartoon band Gorillaz worldwide success.
Albarn lives in Notting Hill and has a born in 2000, daughter. Albarn is a vegetarian.
In 2014 he reported during the time of the greatest successes of Blur in the mid- 1990s to have been addicted to heroin; Although the drug had made him more creative, but at the same time socially isolated, and ultimately any form of dependency is bad.
Work
1997 Albarn starred in the gangster film Face. Two years later he wrote with Michael Nyman on the soundtrack for Ravenous - take it or leave. In 2000, he co-wrote with Einar Örn Benediktsson the Icelandic composer the soundtrack to the film 101 Reykjavík.
On 26 October 2006 his project The Good, the Bad & the Queen was electricproms presented at the first BBC. A proper name does not have the band claims to be. It is next to Damon Albarn of Tony Allen ( Fela Kuti ), Paul Simonon ( The Clash ) and Simon Tong ( The Verve ).
Albarn has composed an opera called Monkey: Journey to the West. Jamie Hewlett helped him with design and animation, directed by Chen Zi - Sheng. The project was successful and was in 2011 with Dr Dee: An English Opera a successor.
Bobby Womack album of 2012, The Bravest Man In The Universe, was produced by Albarn. Both appeared together at Glastonbury Festival 2013, Womack was accompanied during his appearance of Albarn on piano. In addition Albarn worked with at the debut album of 2013 Martijn Teerlinck aka The Child of Lov.
