Dankerath
Dankerath is a municipality in the district of Ahrweiler, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Adenau. The place Dankerath is a village road.
Geographical location
Dankerath is located in the High Eifel between Nohn, Trierscheid and Senscheid.
History
Dankerath was probably founded by the Abbey of St. Maximin in Trier. The first documented mention dates from 1276. Therein is a " Danckrath of Grebestein " mentioned. At this time Dankerath belonged to the Electorate of Trier.
