Reifferscheid

Reifferscheid is a municipality in the district of Ahrweiler, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Adenau and is one of the highest places in the High Eifel.

History

The oldest traces of settlement represent finds from the Celtic early dar. Reifferscheid was first mentioned in a document of the Abbey of St. Maximin in 975 years From 1276 the city to the county Nürburg and thus to the Electorate of Cologne was one. One for Electoral Cologne office Nürburg belonging office of mayor had until the end of the 18th century based in Reifferscheid.

Parish council

The local council in Reifferscheid consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Attractions

Worth seeing is the built in 1893-1895 parish church of St. Michael in Reifferscheid.
