Därstetten

The hamlet of moss in Därstetten.

Därstetten is a municipality in the administrative district of Frutigen- Niedersimmental of the canton of Bern in Switzerland.

In addition to the municipality under this name also exist a community of citizens and a Reformed congregation.

Geography

Därstetten located in the Bernese Oberland in the Alps south of the gantrisch ( 2275 m. Above sea level. M. ). Even the Stock Horn ( 2190 m. Above sea level. M. ) is located on the eastern boundary of the municipality. The Simme flows through the village. The neighboring communities of north clockwise are starting Pohlern, Oberstocken, Erlenbach im Simmental, Diemtigen, Oberwil, Rüschegg, Rüeggisberg and Blumenstein.

Mayor of the municipality is Urs Scheidegger (2009).

The voting shares of the parties at the national elections of 2011 were: SVP 62.2 %, BDP 15.1 %, EDU 6.5 %, SP 3.3 %, GPS 3.2 %, EPP 2.9 %, FDP 2.5 %, SD 1.0 %, glp 1.0 %, CVP 0.1%.

History

Därstetten is first mentioned in 1228 as Tarenchat historically. About Terstetten ( 1437) - tärnstetten ( 1470 ), the name converts into today Därstetten.

Attractions

The Romanesque Protestant church was in the 13th century abbey church of an Augustinian Canons. From the construction period a few wall paintings have been preserved. Subsequent modifications were trying to adapt the Church to the appearance average Bernerland churches. Thus, the tower dates from the year 1926.
