David Crawshay

David Crawshay ( born August 11, 1979 in Carlton, Victoria) is an Australian rower who won the 2008 Olympic gold medal in the double sculls.

Crawshay began in 1994 with the rowing. At the Olympic Games 2004 Crawshay missed the Australian sculls the finals, finishing in seventh place. 2005 and 2007 he was Australian champion in One. The World Rowing Championships 2007 at the Rowing Course near Munich, he took along with Scott Brennan in the double sculls second place in the B final, but was third twice in the World Cup. In Beijing at the 2008 Olympic Games Brennan and Crawshay won then surprisingly the gold medal in the double sculls.

2009 saw Crawshay in the quadruple sculls, along with Nick Hudson, Jared Bidwell and Daniel Noonan, he won the silver medal at the World Rowing Championships in 2009. A year later, the quadruple sculls in the cast Karsten Forster Ling, David Crawshay, James McRae and Daniel Noonan won the bronze medal at the World Championships in New Zealand. 2011 Crawshay returned to the sculls and finished with Scott Brennan fourth place at the World Championships in Bled.
