The Den Haag Laan van NOI railway station (in full: Den Haag Laan van Nieuw Oost Indië ) is a through station, the Dutch railway company NS in the center of the Dutch city The Hague. He is after the stations Den Haag HS and Den Haag Centraal the busiest station in the city. It lies on the railway line from Rotterdam to Amsterdam; this is one of the most important and busiest in the whole of the Netherlands. In addition, still runs the light rail similar Randstadrail at two separate tracks of the station. The name of the station derives from the directly underneath Laan van Nieuw road running Oost- Indië (NOI ).

History

The station is located on one of the oldest railway lines in the Netherlands. The part of the line between Leiden and The Hague was opened in 1843. The station Nieuw Oosteinde lay on the junction with the Laan van Nieuw Oost- Indië and was in operation from 1843 to 1864. A new station was opened at the same location along the new route from Den Haag HS on May 1, 1907 to Scheveningen. In 1908 Hofpleinlijn between The Hague and Rotterdam Hofplein HS, which also ran on the station was opened. This track was the first electrified railway line in the Netherlands. The two new routes followed the railway line between Amsterdam -Rotterdam Den Haag Laan van NOI HS and possessed at the station but no platforms. Also trains between The Hague and Leiden did not last at this station until 15 May 1931. The route to Scheveningen was shut down in 1953. 1979, a new route was opened to Zoetermeer. Both the route to Rotterdam Hofplein as well as the route to Zoetermeer were rebuilt in 2006 on the operation of the Metro Randstadrail.
