Diving at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's 3 metre springboard

The competition diving from the 3- m board of men at the 2012 Olympics in London was held on 6 and 7 August 2012 at the London Aquatics Centre. 29 athletes took part.

Each of the 29 starters were about six qualifying jumps. The 18 best jumpers qualified for the semifinals, the points of the qualification have been deleted. In the semifinals six jumps were completed again. The 12 best jumpers came into the final, in which the points were deleted. Also in the finals six times jumped.

Overall, only five jumps achieved a score of over 90 points. With 93.60 points, the Canadians François Imbeau - Dulac succeeded in the sixth passage of the jump with the best grade for the qualification.

Stephan Feck failed his second jump completely. After he slipped away during the jump, he could not control his jump and landed on his back. Although he still went for the third jump on the board, but on the fourth, fifth and sixth attempt he resigned.

The last jump of the Russians Ilya Zakharov was with 100,70 points of the best so far of the competition.

With 104.50 points in the last jump Olympic champion managed to Ilya Zakharov of Russia the jump with the best score of the competition. Even in the semi-finals he managed a jump with a score of over 100 points. The Briton Christopher Mears completed with 100.70 points in the last attempt the third jump over 100 points in this discipline. Sakharov is the first Russian Olympic champion in springboard diving.
