Djamel Abdoun

Djamel Abdoun (Arabic: جمال عبدون, DMG Ǧamāl ʿ Abdūn; born February 14, 1986 in Montreuil ) is a French -born Algerian footballer who is currently at Nottingham Forest under contract.

Career

Association

Djamel Abdoun started his career in 2002 in the youth of Paris Saint- Germain, but he was released at the end of the season. Then he moved to AC Ajaccio, where he was taken a year later in the first team. From 2004 to 2008, he graduated from twelve games and scored two goals.

In January 2007 he was awarded for six months to the English top club Manchester City. However, he completed only one game on 28 January in a 3-1 victory over Southampton FC in the FA Cup when he came on in the 89th minute. After the end of the loan, both sides decided against a transfer and so Abdoun returned to Ajaccio. In the 2007 /08 season he was loaned to league rivals CS Sedan. There he was able to get a regular place and played 33 games in which he scored five goals. But this time they decided against a purchase. After the expiration of his contract at Ajaccio, he moved in 2008 to FC Nantes. He graduated on August 9, his first league game in a 1-2 defeat at AJ Auxerre. On his first goal, the midfielder had to wait until February 7, 2009 in the 1:4 home defeat against Paris Saint- Germain, he scored the only goal of his team. After 49 games and three goals in the dress from FC Nantes, he moved on 24 August 2010 to the Greek club AO Kavala, where he signed a three-year contract. About the transfer fee was not disclosed. Only five days later, he graduated in the 0-1 home defeat against Aris Thessaloniki his first game for Kavala.

In summer 2011, Djamel Abdoun joined the Greek giants Olympiakos Piraeus. This was his most successful station, he was twice Greek champions and cup winners. After 50 league games and nine goals scored, he spent approximately 1.55 million pounds sterling to Nottingham Forest.

National

At the international level played Abdoun in the age categories U - 18 to U -21 nor to France and won the U-19 Football Championship in 2005 and in 2007 the Toulon Tournament. In September 2009, he accepted an invitation for the first time in a training camp of the Algerian national team. In the subsequent World Cup qualifier against Rwanda but he was not part of the squad. From national coach Rabah Saâdane he was appointed to the squad for the African Cup of 2010 in Angola and made his debut in the final group game at 0-0 draw against the hosts, as he was substituted shortly before the end of the game for Karim Matmour. Also in the other three tournament games Algeria Abdoun came on as a substitute to use each.

Half a year later was also Abdoun to Algerian squad for the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. Abdoun was indeed nominated for the African Cup in 2013, because of an injury, however, he did not participate in the tournament.
