Drahichyn Raion

The Rajon Drahitschyn (White Russian Драгічынскі раён; Russian Дрогичинский район ) is the Breszkaja Woblasz, Belarus. It includes the city Drahitschyn and about 60 smaller villages.

Since the 9th century, the area was part of Kievan Rus. 1921-1939 was the district under Polish rule. Since 1954 Drahitschyn is administratively a part of the Breszkaja Woblasz.

Geography

The Rajon Drahitschyn located in the middle south of Breszkaja Woblasz on the border with Ukraine. The Nachbarrajone in the Brest Region are in the north Bjarosa, in the east and in the west Iwanawa Kobryn.
