Eddy Paape

Edouard Paape Eddy Paape alias ( born July 3, 1920 in Grivegnée, † 12 May, 2012 Brussels) was a Belgian comic book artist.

Career

Eddy Paape studied art and painting. Since he could not live on the painting, he worked in the animation department of the CBA, where he met Morris, André Franquin and Peyo. About it he came in contact with Jijé, who entrusted him Valhardi.

He eventually joined the World 's Press by Georges Trois Fontaines and helped Victor Hubinon in Buck Danny, Surcouf and Tiger Joe and MiTacq in The Blue Panther. There was a long-standing collaboration with Jean -Michel Charlier and Octave Joly. Eddy Paape was the first signatory of Uncle Paul and recorded with Marc Dacier his first major series. If necessary, he helped further from Buck Danny and jumped into The Crimson Pirate, in order to avoid gaps phenomenon in Spirou and Pilote.

After disagreements he returns Dupuis to the back and went to Le Lombard. In 1966 appeared the first short stories in Tintin. Greg wrote for him Luc Orient. Other series created with André -Paul Duchateau. Both authors came between 1990 and 1994 again to cooperate.

Eddy Paape brought as an art teacher for many years coming young talent in the basics of comic drawing.
