Édouard Nzambimana

Édouard Nzambimana (* 1945 ) is a businessman and politician from Burundi.

Biography

Nzambimana, who belongs to the people of the Tutsi, completed post-school training as an officer and eventually rose to become a Major. On March 13, 1974, he was appointed by President Michel Micombero by Presidential Decree No 100/69 Minister of Public Works, Transport and Equipment ( Ministre des Travaux Publics, the Transports et de l' Equipement ) in the government.

On November 1, 1976, he participated in a military coup against President Micombero and was named after the inauguration of President Colonel Jean -Baptiste Bagaza as Chairman of the Supreme Military Council that on 12 November 1976 to the Prime Minister. At the same time he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and took in his Cabinet, the Office of the Planning Minister ( Ministre du Plan ). As part of a Government reshuffle he took over on May 31, 1978 next to the Office of the Prime Minister and the offices of the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development ( Ministre de l'Agriculture, de l' Elevage et du Développement Rural). He continued in this position until the abolition of the Prime Minister Office on 13 October 1978. Subsequently, he was until 1982, Foreign Minister in the government of President Bagaza.

In 1982 he resigned from the government and worked as an architect in the private sector before he was founder and Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of ERCOIL, a company of specializing in the import of petroleum products and selling these products at gas stations Group specialized in Burundi. In addition, he is also CEO of the insurance group UCAR.
