Eisenheim is a market in the Lower Franconian district of Würzburg and a member of the administrative community Estonians field. The market rights is actually the only place Obereisenheim, which therefore - unlike Untereisenheim - has a marketplace. With the merger of the two villages to a community, " Eisenheim " was also the term "market" extended to both places.

Eisenheim is located in the Würzburg region and right on Main.
Community structure
Eisenheim is divided into four districts:
- Kaltenhausen
- Obereisenheim
- Schiffmühle
- Untereisenheim
There are the districts Obereisenheim and Untereisenheim.
History
It was previously from a first mention of Eisenheim's in 788 as " Isanesheim " in a deed to the monastery of Fulda. Then also the 1200th anniversary in 1988 moved.
According to recent reviews of a document from the year 772, this date will be used as the first mention, since it is assumed that " Isinleiba " or " Isleiba " as it is mentioned in the document book of the monastery of Fulda, and the former Eisenheim says.
Obereisenheim was part of the county of Castell- Rüdenhausen, which was mediated by Bavaria in 1806. In 1810, Bavaria was the territory of the Grand Duchy of Würzburg in the course of Grenzpurifikationen. 1814 finally fell to Bavaria. By belonging to the Evangelical county of Castell-Rüdenhausen Obereisenheim is still predominantly Protestant today. There is an evangelical pastor and a Protestant parish church.

The market Obereisenheim and the community Untereisenheim belonged to the district of Gerolzhofen before they came on 1 July 1972 Würzburg district by the county government reform in Bavaria. On May 1, 1978 both communities were merged to form new iron home market.

Economy, agriculture and forestry

Traffic
Eisenheim is located on Main. A special feature are the two car ferries that connect the districts Obereisenheim with master home and Kaltenhausen with driving. The Oberneisen Heimer ferry is the only active motor ferry in the district of Würzburg.
Education
There are the following facilities (as of 2010):
- Kindergartens: A children's home in the district Untereisenheim for all children of the market Eisenheim ( and when required and space from neighboring villages ) with creche for infants from 6 months to 2.5 years, kindergarten with 50 kindergarten places and school child care. The Children's House has been open since September 1, 2010, the official opening will take place in October 2010.
