The Max Aicher Arena (formerly ice rink Inzell ) is an indoor ice rink with a 400 -meter speed skating track and a hockey infield. By the end of 2009, there was an open-air facility.

Prehistory

About five kilometers from Inzell is the Frillensee which freezes very reliable early in the year. As the lake 270 meters long and 160 meters wide at its frozen surface allowed the establishment of a career regular 400 meters in circumference, and established himself there in 1959 Inzell from a center of the German speed skating sport. Even more so than even just " short paths " on relatively small artificial ice for speed skaters were available in larger cities with skating clubs like the former West Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne.

In 1965, even a 400-meter ice rink was built with an attached small swimming pool in the town of Inzell. 1967/68 a windbreak plant was built with changing rooms, restrooms and weight training room.

1971, the rink was built north athletic track with pitch. Three years later, the lighting system was converted into a high mast system. In the years 1981/82 were built, a service building with garage and a water treatment plant, administrative, coaching and classrooms. The refrigeration has been partially restored and installed a heat pump. Through the establishment of a deep well, the plant was converted to cooling water supply. 1985, you have the whole rink completely renovated and remodeled indoor pool, sauna area and the area of the main entrance, athlete accommodation and living spaces were created. 1993 was also refurbished the lighting system. In 1995, added a new sports hall. Between 1995 and 1997 we renewed the refrigeration system by replacing the existing reciprocating compressor in screw compressor with electronic control.

New hall

From September 2009 a new indoor stadium for 36 million euro was built on the former open-air facility, which can hold 6,000 spectators. In December 2010 was the start of training, the stadium was officially opened in March 2011 with the ISU World Single Distance Championships. By Name sponsoring the free Lassinger contractors Max Aicher secured the title for 20 years Max Aicher Arena. The name Ludwig Schwabl is still retained, the entire campus to the hall to be named after him.
