Geography

Eitensheim is on the plateau of the southern Franconian between Eichstätt and Ingolstadt Altmühltal Nature Park.

History

Eitensheim, the 908 is mentioned as " ltensheim " in a document of King Louis the child for the bishop of Eichstätt Erchanbald first time was for centuries closely connected with the cathedral chapter Eichstätter: Already in 1179 were the cathedral chapter by Pope Alexander III. and emeut 1186 by Pope Urban III. two-thirds of Neubruchzehents confirmed. 1433 included 28 whole and 18 half hooves and two courtyards fire to the cathedral chapter. The St. Andrew's cross in chief commemorates the patron Saint Andrew, 1182-1197, the parish church was consecrated by the bishop of Eichstätt Otto.

Eitensheim belonged to the local government reform in 1972 the district of Ingolstadt.

Under a silver shield head, in a blue St. Andrew's Cross, a red border golden lion.

The community Eitensheim took a decision of the council of 8 February 1983 standing next to crest ( crest design: Theodor Goerge ). The Government of Upper Bavaria agreed to the adoption of the arms on June 10, 1983.
