Épinay-sur-Seine
Epinay- sur -Seine is a commune in the northern metropolitan area of Paris, situated 11.3 km from Paris city center. It is one of the most densely populated municipalities in Europe. Covering an area of 457 hectares live 54 540 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011). The inhabitants of Epinay- sur -Seine are called Spina Parisiens.
History
On August 7, 1850 is a part of the territory of Epinay- sur -Seine was combined with a part of the territory of Deuil- la -Barre, a part of the territory of Saint- Gratien and a part of the territory Soisy -sous- Montmorency, from which the community Enghien- les -Bains was born. Since about 1960 the population of the community through the construction of high-rise buildings in prefab grew rapidly and the social structure changed dramatically. How many suburbs of Paris also has the community a high proportion of immigrants (about 40 % ), mainly from North Africa, Turkey and sub-Saharan Africa.
Traffic
Epinay- sur -Seine is connected to RER C. It has furthermore a railway station of Transilien Paris - Nord suburban line.
