Épinay-sur-Seine

Epinay- sur -Seine is a commune in the northern metropolitan area of Paris, situated 11.3 km from Paris city center. It is one of the most densely populated municipalities in Europe. Covering an area of ​​457 hectares live 54 540 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011). The inhabitants of Epinay- sur -Seine are called Spina Parisiens.

History

On August 7, 1850 is a part of the territory of Epinay- sur -Seine was combined with a part of the territory of Deuil- la -Barre, a part of the territory of Saint- Gratien and a part of the territory Soisy -sous- Montmorency, from which the community Enghien- les -Bains was born. Since about 1960 the population of the community through the construction of high-rise buildings in prefab grew rapidly and the social structure changed dramatically. How many suburbs of Paris also has the community a high proportion of immigrants (about 40 % ), mainly from North Africa, Turkey and sub-Saharan Africa.
