Erlenbach im Simmental is a municipality in the administrative district of Frutigen- Niedersimmental of the canton of Bern in Switzerland.
In addition to the municipality exists under this name a Reformed congregation.
Name
Erlenbach (the " lined with alder brook" ) is an original Bach name that has been transferred to the settlement. The name consists of the genus Old High German words erila ( alder) and bah (Bach).
Geography
Erlenbach im Simmental is located in the Bernese Oberland in the Alps on the Simme. The neighboring communities of north clockwise are starting Oberstocken, Niederstocken, Reutigen, Brodhüsi, Diemtigen and Därstetten.
In the village there are two small reservoirs, the upper halt and the Hinterstockensee.
Policy
Mayor of the municipality is Peter Brügger (2009).
The voting shares of the parties at the national elections of 2011 were: SVP 43.3 %, 23.3 % BDP, SP 8.7 %, EDU 5.9 %, 5.4 % GPS, FDP 3.6 %, 3.0 % glp, EPP 1.4 %, CVP 0.5 %.

With two stations ( Ringoldingen and Erlenbach ) Erlenbach is easy to reach by public transport. On Erlenbach station itself hold regional express trains.
