Eskilstuna City FK

Eskilstuna City Fotbollklub is a Swedish football club based in the central Swedish town of Eskilstuna. The club played one season in the Allsvenskan, but currently meets only mediocre.

History

Once first league

The club was founded on November 1, 1907 under the name Idrottsklubben City. At the foundation of the Allsvenskan in 1924 to qualify for the Swedish House of Lords has been missed, so that the club came in the unofficial second division. There, the team was winning season in central Sweden and thus qualified for the promotion games in which Westermalms IF could be defeated with two wins. In the Allsvenskan but managed just one win of the season and as a Table with only six points the team went straight off again.

Years in the second division

In the second division, although once again made the relay victory, but in the rise of games, the club failed after two defeats at Djurgårdens IF and missed the direct resurgence. One year the team was indeed only a third party, but could so for now officially launched, only two seasons qualify comprehensive second division. There they played in the North Season and could keep up with one point ahead of the relegation Djurgårdens IF and IFK Stockholm just the class. Establishment in the third division

From 1933 IK City played again in the third division. There, the team was able to establish itself in the front of the table of Südstaffel in central Sweden, but at first did not seriously compete for the resurgence. Although in 1936 succeeded the runner-up title, but had promoted IF Rune at the end of season five points clear of the club from Eskilstuna. Only in 1941 was the team dominated the league and moved as a relay winners in the ascent games. Again in the second division

In the season 1949/50, the team was in third place in the second division and in the end had just four points behind second-division champion Örebro SK. Again third league

With eight points behind champions Södertälje SK IK City missed the 1964 re- direct resurgence. In the following years the team was able to place always at the front of the table, without, however, being able to play for the climb. Until 1969 provided you with Finspångs AIK a duel for the climb, which turned out thanks to goal difference in favor of the team from Eskilstuna.

Between three and five League

1980 succeeded IK City to return to the third division, but was relegated as a Table directly again. After a sixth place succeeded as a table runner, 1983, the renewed rise in the third league. Again, the club missed an establishment in the third division and had to turn this after only one season down leaving. After a reform of the league system, the team launched temporarily only fünftklassig. Only in 1988 was the club rise from the fifth division.

Back to the third tier

As a climber from the Fünftklassigkeit IK City knew to surprise in the fourth division in 1989 and was able to finish the season in fourth league champions and thus let climbers celebrate the now third-rate Division 2. The direct re- descent followed the immediate promotion back to the third- highest division. Here, the team was able to establish in the following years in the middle of the league.

New name and again four League

In 2000 it was renamed the club IK City in the present name, Eskilstuna City FK. 2004 became the club in danger of relegation. At the end of the year the team had to play in the relegation due to goal difference compared to Västerås IK. There, however Kungsörs SK could be defeated by a 2-0 away win and a 1-1 draw in the return leg. In 2005, the Swedish league system was reformed again: as a table Tenth escaped the club may be scarce the descent into the fifth rate then Division 3, but remained in the stepped-back Division 2 and played therefore only viertklassig. Return to the third tier

2011 succeeded as master of the fourth division Division 2 Södra Svealand return to the third tier.
