States:

The European route E 27 or 27 as part of the European road network leading from Belfort in France to Aosta in Italy. Despite the relatively short length is traversed as another country (French-speaking ) Switzerland. Part of the journey on the eastern shore of Lake Geneva is also the Great St. Bernard Tunnel.

Similarly, the highway route is hardly developed. In the Franco-Swiss border region and in the area around Delémont the range has been expanded. A progressive expansion is essentially contrary to the mountainous terrain.

Aside from the capital Bern by the E 27 only smaller cities or resources centers connected. Mostly valleys have to be overcome by bridges or viaducts and through mountains are traversed by tunnels. These is also the particularly scenic section between Vevey and Lake Geneva.
