National selection

Denmark Denmark

Denmark held on 24 August a national decider named Dansk Danse Grand Prix from, which was attended by three professional dance pairs. These three pairs were previously chosen internally by a jury of eight pairs of Danish Dance Sport Federation ( three Latin couples, three couples and two standard mixed pairs). The preliminary round was held at the Town Hall Square in Copenhagen and the winning pair was determined via telephone and SMS voting. The winners were well received by the assessors jury the maximum number of points.

Participants were:

Germany Germany

The German couple was selected on 30 June 2007 under the Great summer festival of folk music. Unlike other countries, Couples composed of one or a celebrity and a professional dancer or a dancer passed. The audience decided by televoting. Participants were:

  • Ruth Moschner & Sergiy Pluyta (2nd place - 44 % of the vote )
  • Thomas Anders & Sofia Bogdanova ( 3rd Place - 7% of the votes)
  • Cloud Hegenbarth & Allan Frank (1st place - 49 % of the vote )

Since Allan Frank was very time limited due to its current training for long-haul pilots, Cloud Hegenbarth joined the Euro Vision Dance Contest with the professional dancers Oliver Seefeldt on. Both knew each other from the RTL show Let's Dance! ( Season 1 ) and were at that time runner-up.

Finland Finland

The Finnish preliminary round was on August 25, just a week before the final, played. A jury assessors commented on the performances, but missed even no points so the decision was alone in the audience who voted via SMS and telephone. Moderated the mission of Jaana Pelkonen, which hosted the Euro Vision Song Contest in Helsinki and the Finnish preliminary 2007.

Greece Greece

The Greek TV station has the pair formed internally selected from Ourania Kalliou and Spyros Pavlidis and announced in early July.

Ireland Ireland

The Irish television station RTÉ determined the Irish couple on 20 May as part of the show Celebrity Jigs and Reels ( comparable Irish version of Let 's Dance ). Five formed from the professional dancers couples competed against each other and a jury (consisting of Jane Gilheaney, director of Shaylyn Dance Company in Ballinamore, Co Leitrim, David Bolger, artistic director of Coiscéim Dance Theatre in Dublin and Julian Vignoles ) chose the winning couple, Nicola Byrne & Mick Donegan.

Lithuania Lithuania

The Lithuanian Sports Association voted for the national qualifying round of the applicants from ten couples who entered then weekly from July 4; in each show a pair has been selected. Was voted by the jury and telephone voting in the " Euro Vision Song Contest " style with 12 points for the best pair, 10 points for the second-best pair, and 8-1 points for the next couple. In the last run on August 22, the Lithuanian TV audience and the jury for Gabriele Valiukaitë and Gintaras Svistunavicius decided.

Netherlands The Netherlands

The Netherlands held on 4 August from a national decider, able to participate in the only professional couples. The winning pair was determined by telephone voting.

Austria Austria

The couple Kelly and Andy Kainz was chosen internally by the ORF. They got the ticket for London, since in all three " Dancing Stars " seasons one of them as a professional dancer won (Andy Kainz with Marika Lichter, Kelly Kainz with Manuel Ortega and Klaus Eberhartinger ).

Poland Poland

Kasia and Marcin Cichopek Hakiel received as winner of the second season of the Polish edition of Dancing with the Stars - Taniec z gwiazdami - the opportunity to represent their country at Euro Vision Dance Contest. This also Poland will be represented by a "mixed" couple; Kasia Cichopek is actually an actress. You have joined a dance school.

Portugal

The Portuguese TV channel RTP chooses the participants internally. Dancer will be ( " Dance with me " ) Sónia Araújo, prominent winner of the second " Dança Comigo " season. Her male colleagues is Ricardo Silva.

Russia Russia

The Russian TV channel RTR has nominated internally by the newsreader Maria Sittel and professional dancers Vladislav Borodinov for the Euro Vision Dance Contest.

Sweden Sweden

Cecilia " Cissy " Ehrling & Martin Lidberg received the ticket for London as the winner of the current "Let's Dance " Season in Sweden. As Germany is consequently Sweden by a pair consisting of a celebrity and a professional dancer from represented ( Martin Lidberg is a professional wrestler).

Switzerland Switzerland

The Swiss TV station, the pair consisting of the figure skater Denise Biellmann and the professional dancers Sven Ninnemann internally selected and announced in early July.

Spain

The Spanish couple was chosen as part of the broadcast Mira quien baila a Euro vision. The format was very similar to Let's Dance, but instead of taking celebrities unknown persons participated. In every show also took part in a celebrity as "guest dancers ". In the final on 9 July, there were still four pairs of, amagoya Benlloch and Abraham Martinet Fernandez were the favorites sowohle of voting by telephone viewer and the jury.

Ukraine Ukraine

Yulia Okropiridze & Illya Sydorenko were selected in an interactive voting, organized by the national television UT -1. Five other pairs participated in the national preselection on June 8, in part, in each pair presented three dances: Two came from their official concert programs, as well as a freestyle dance, which should have national typical elements. The winner won with 679 votes, 84 votes ahead of second-placed pair Vitaliy Zagoruiko & Ganna Priadkina.

United Kingdom United Kingdom

Camilla Dallerup and Brendan Cole were selected internally by the BBC. Both have already participated in all seasons of the show Strictly Come Dancing, Cole won the first season along with Natasha Kaplinsky. The couple goes for some time personally and professionally separate ways and will dance for the Euro Vision Dance Contest for the last time together.

Scoreboard

Vote

15 countries voted on by televoting. As in Greece due to the ongoing fire disaster, the broadcast was not live, the replacement panel was used for voting. The lines were opened as the junior Euro Vision Song Contest 2006 at the beginning of the broadcast. The ratings were made by the countries in alphabetical order ( according to the English name ), said after the reading of one to seven points each, the scoreboard is updated before the first three places were read.

Notes to Vote

  • Nine of the 16 countries, ie almost three-fifths, at least once received the highest rating of twelve points.
  • The second-placed Ukraine received five times, ie twice more than the winning country Finland, the highest rating.
  • As with the Euro Vision Song Contest 2006 and 2007 Lithuania was the only twelve points from Ireland.
  • Austria, Ireland, Ukraine and Finland have received from all other countries points.
  • Finland was seen by almost all countries in the top four, only Germany and the United Kingdom awarded four points.

Starting Order

Switzerland joined to the first and reached the last place, Finland occurred last and won the first place. Even were all the countries that were among the top four on in the second half; further did not make Sweden the only country in the second half to finish in the top ten.

Neighborhood voting

Some countries received their highest rating of neighboring countries: Russia (12 from Ukraine, 10 from Finland ), United Kingdom (7 of Ireland), Austria (10 of Germany ), Germany (10 by Austria and Switzerland), Spain (12 of Portugal ), Poland ( 12 from Germany ) and Denmark (8 from Sweden); yet none of these countries came under the first three.

Other countries received above-average ratings in other countries: Ireland (12 from Denmark), the Netherlands ( 12 from Greece) and Lithuania ( 12 from Ireland). In addition, Switzerland was awarded no points of the German and Austrian neighbors; and also the five Danish points to Sweden and the Finnish four points to Denmark is not testified to neighborhood voting.

The replacement jury

The result of the Greek substitute jury gave way in places quite clearly from the voting by telephone Nations: 12 points went to the Netherlands ( by far the highest score of the evening ), two points to Austria ( along with Britain, the lowest of the evening ). Nevertheless, Greece gave 10 points to the eventual winner from Finland.
