Eveleth is a city in St. Louis County in the northeast of the U.S. State of Minnesota. It is located in the Mesabi Range and has approximately 3,900 inhabitants.

Geography

Eveleth is located approximately 80 kilometers northwest of Duluth on U.S. Route 53 According to the United States Census Bureau, the area of ​​the city is 16.8 square miles, of which 0.4 square miles of water.

History

Eveleth was founded in 1892 with the discovery of iron ore deposits in the region. Three years later, more iron ore deposits were discovered below the settlement. To make the development possible in 1900 had the whole town to move to several kilometers. From 1900 to 1910, the population grew from 2,752 to 7,036 inhabitants.
